San Diego

Humphrey’s Half Moon Inn is always one of our favorite places to play and hang. They have a great pool, and gardens, walking trails and it is a fun venue to play. The sun is slowly sneaking out and it is about 73 degrees out and it feels good. The band plays tonight at 8 PM.

Got a great trumpeteer by the name of Sal Cracciolo sitting in tonite. Sal was in Pancho Sanchez’s band for years, and I met him when he was with one of Greg Adams’ early solo bands. Killer lead (strong, like bull) and a close friend of Adolfo. Welcome to the dance, Sal.

The band sounded great, and Sal added some nice notes. Mic had the best sound I’ve heard from him in a while, and that’s saying something.
And, of course, Julia looked wonderful.

Any surprises in the set list, or new arrangements?

One of the things I’ve noticed is that the band seems to be having a lot more fun on stage since Mic came back, which is really nice to see.

Did Humphrey’s change their sign out in front? I haven’t been there since 2004.
