I would like to share a few places that Mic and I repeatedly buy organic foods from. I have researched these companies and would recommend their goods to my friends.
Dan White and his wife own Lazy69 Ranch located in Northern California. I have been ordering organic grass fed beef from him for about a year. Normally we pick the cuts, and he puts together a custom order about $250.00 and ships free of charge. The packages arrives frozen and perfectly sealed.
USDA standards for grass-fed beef are always met or exceeded and his cattle are grass-fed and finished. He does not introduce low level antibiotics, growth stimulating hormones, feed lot fillers or feed byproducts at any time.
We only eat beef a few times a month and one order last about 6 months. If you eat beef I would highly recommend eating grass fed organic beef it is lower in satruated fats and higher in Omega 3’s.
There are a number of nutritional differences between the meat of pasture-raised and feedlot-raised animals. To begin with, meat from grass-fed cattle, sheep, and bison is lower in total fat.
Because meat from grass-fed animals is lower in fat than meat from grain-fed animals, it is also lower in calories. (Fat has 9 calories per gram, compared with only 4 calories for protein and carbohydrates.
Meat from grass-fed animals has two to four times more omega-3 fatty acids than meat from grain- fed animals. Omega-3s are called “good fats” because they play a vital role in every cell and system in your body.
Here is another great food find. We are currently receiving the Sampler of the Month, which costs $72.00 monthly , and includes a fresh box of organic fruits, vegetables and goodies delivered to our home free of charge. Diamond Organics includes a content list and helpful recipes in the shipment. This is a great way to get turned on to new foods and introduce them into your diet. We look forward to our deliveries.
